That’s what a few friends have recommended to me, going the post bac route. It does help, from what they’ve said, that I’ve been out of college for 3 years and am now going back as that shows a separation of the student I was in undergrad and the student the Med or PA school is getting now. Thanks for the advice!

Just a quick question, I am currently going back to school to take the science pre-reqs needed for both PA and Med school (right now I’m not sure which path I want to take, but the required science courses are the same to this point) and I just want to know if there is any chance of me getting into a decent medical school.

Right now my overall GPA is sitting at a 2.2. Yeah, it’s awful. I definitely had far too much fun in my first time around but so far I’ve got a 4.0 science GPA. Now, I’ve done the math on the amount of classes I need to take and their hours, but it’s not likely that even getting a 4.0 through the entirety of my science courses will bring me up to a 3.0 (more likely a 2.75 or so). I know I can do well on the MCAT, I always test well, and I’m aiming to get a 4.0 sGPA but I just want to know if that low cGPA will preclude me from the majority of the good programs or not?

    Thanks!
