lately i have been flipping out looking at average h.s. gpa’s getting into certain schools now and it’s getting crazy.

Let’s suppose private school makes your gpa 0.5 higher ( could be exaggeration but let’s look for better than worse ) that would push you to 3.7, which is descent. I had around a 3.7 and I got a 2200/2400 on the SAT. I think because I had a bunch of Cs and Bs in junior yr kind pushed me back because of the decrease in grades instead of increase. I applied to johns hopkins, U. Washington St. Louis, NYU, and Carnegie Mellon, all of them accepted me except for Johns Hopkins. I got into most of UCs, so I’d say you have a chance and don’t give up. For private colleges and schools that look at GPAs relatively less, your SAT may push up into a good private school. ~ good luck

    Admission Consultants,

I am going to graduate with around a 3.5 UD gpa. I had a D and F, which i repeated and a couple Cs. I didn’t do pretty much any extracurricular activities. I pulled my grades from a 2.7 in middle soph year to this year. I am a double major in Stat and Econ Management from UCSD graduating early. Should I stay back another yr to pull up my GPA? I really don’t like UCSD so I am thinking about graduating early to work or prepare for LSAT, but everyone tells me to take a easy minor to boost grades. Can you give me some suggestions? Thank you very much~
