ParticipantTaran,
I am also from Canada. You say that your grades thus far are good. Excellent…you must keep it this way. I am not sure about grants/loans, but can tell you about what you should do school-wise.
First, once you complete your SAT’s and high school material, finish your basic general sciences either at a community college or university. Now, remember, college level courses are generally easier than at the University, BUT, that doesn’t make a difference when pharmacy schools look at you application. All they want to see is a high GPA (which you can definitely get from a community college) and of coursre, a high PCAT score.
It’s your choice. The university courses may be a little more tougher than the same college level course, BUT for a Canadian, this usually is not a problem because we tend to have a better educational system. Anyway, I can only say is get you basic general sciences to meet the prerequisite courses and maintain a high GPA.
Good luck

ParticipantI knew of this school back in the 90’s with a different name. A friend of mine decided to go there, but decided to leave after the first 2 weeks. The university owed him about $10000 in tuition monies but wouldn’t reimburse him. After contacting an attorney, and several years later, was he able to collect most of it back.
Now, on a better note, I believe this “newer” school has a different administration since it says that it began in 2004. Therefore, it may actualy be quite good. Additionally, it is associated with Kasturba Medical College in India, which I know, is a very highly regarded medical school….I have been there myself. Now, just because there is a twinning program with Kasturba, doesn’t necessarily mean Univ of Anitigua is a good school to go to. I would try and contact other students who are currently going there and ask them. So, I can’t tell you exactly how good the school is now, but its association with Kasturba Medical College (KMC) is very good….although that doesn’t hold any rank in the U.S.
What I do know is graduates from KMC in India, have come back to the U.S. and have successfully passed the USMLE’s and are now practicing in the U.S. Anyway, do your research. Hope this helped.[
