    Dear Admissions Boards,

    My brief background is a goofed off in high school and enrolled in the local CSU. I decided to minimize the time I spent working and partying to focus on studying and got a 4.0 my first semester. I am confident I can maintain a very high GPA and get into a UC. My question is what about top private schools like Stanford, Harvard, and Yale?
