ParticipantI think it’s 5 – 10% but this should be published by the schools.

ParticipantSee how fast you can pull up your score by doing that. Adjust accordingly and good luck!

ParticipantI don’t see why not. Go for it. What’s the worst that can happen?

ParticipantI believe it is an excellent medical school.
FWIW, I know a really sharp doctor who graduated from there.
I’d also think if something really bad had happened, we would have heard about it, right?
brandonw_395
ParticipantWTF? Hopefully none!
Would you want someone operating on a loved one that was under trained?

Participant*kicks feet up as he senses it’s getting deep in here*

ParticipantEither because hope springs eternal or because everyone wants to look at the train wreck that this would be if this question was asked in all seriousness.

ParticipantI never said Carribean students swung from trees, but I have heard stories of them returning home to seek medical care they couldn’t receive at their own school.
I think there is something wrong when these schools are for profit. That means they want to admit as many students as possible. I also never said that there were no competent or good students in the Carribean, but I think the averages would show the US med students are a notch above and those are the ones I want operating on my loved ones.

ParticipantIf you’re only thinking about tuition, you need to really think if you want to get into medicine. The best quality education is here in the US and those schools will give you the best chance to practice medicine.
The Carribean schools lose students because they get sick and have to return to the US for medical treatment. What does that say about them?
And would you want someone operating on you if they had an inadequate background and education? I wouldn’t. You have people’s lives at stake here and Carribean schools who admit all their applicants aren’t doing society any favors.

ParticipantIf you tried your best and hit a brick wall, then move on. Don’t kill yourself. Try to improve something else instead like your essays.

ParticipantI’d really think this is too important to trust to random strangers. Take a course or find some solid students at your local school to study with.

ParticipantIf you love to travel, maybe you should do that instead of pursue something very serious like medicine.
A school that gaurantees a residency? Someone needs to look into this. Sounds like a con job to me. Maybe the residency is as a receptionist of a dentist office.
And, oh yeah, are you in anyway affiliated with this supposedly great medical school? You sound too enthusiastic not to be an “admissions officer/salesperson” who earns a commission off each enrollment like University of Phoenix domestically and many of the foreign med schools.
Yeah, that’s where I want to invest my time and tuition.
Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Hmm, are you in anyway affiliated with this supposedly great medical school? You sound too enthusiastic not to be an “admissions officer/salesperson” who earns a commission off each enrollment a la University of Phoenix and many of the foreign med schools.

Participant(F) was Nagin, the New Orleans mayor.
It’s not fair to not be able to challenge Bush’s policies though and declare those who do to be terrorists.

ParticipantThere’s traffic here. What did you ask? A ? no one could answer?
There are more askers than answerers here.
