Hello everyone!
Inginia Genoa, an associate professor of medicine at Yale School of Medicine, has proposed replacing the MCAT test with other admissions requirements to bolster the diversity of medical schools. Genoa acknowledged that most medical schools are probably not going to drop the MCAT requirement and she also stated she didn’t believe the Trump administration would file a lawsuit on the basis of “a disparate impact on the basis of race.”
Sometimes change starts with small steps such as this. Let’s see if Dr. Genoa started a movement that may abolish the MCAT at some future point. Only time will tell.
Best of luck with your applications!
Sincerely,
