    Hello everyone!

In case you hadn’t heard, UMass Amherst has found itself in some controversy after telling students last week that it will stop admitting Iranians into certain graduate programs. To avoid violating US sanctions against Iran, the school will not allow Iranian nationals into the graduate programs of chemical, computer, and mechanical engineering as well as those for the natural sciences. We believe this is unique amongst US schools (or at least any other schools are keeping such policy decisions on the “down low”) and it even appears to have caught the US State Department off guard. It will be interesting to see if this policy gets overturned in the not-so-distant future.

Best of luck with your applications!
