Hello everyone!
The Daily Caller has an interesting article about some issues UC Santa Barbara is facing with regards to cheating and poor English skills as a result of their huge increase in Chinese students. In 2008, the school hosted 127 students from China and by last year that number had grown to 2,173.
International students pay higher tuition rates and the tuition spike has been used to offset the loss of revenue that began with the 2008 recession. While UC Santa Barbara has increased their Chinese student population by 1,611%, the other UCs have followed track to a slightly lesser degree by increasing their Chinese student populations by 748% over the same time period.
Best of luck with your applications!
Sincerely,
