ModeratorHello everyone!
The Tab reported earlier today that UC Irvine has been rescinding admissions offers from prospective Class of 2021 members without explanation.
Let this serve as a reminder as to why it’s imperative to submit all of your paperwork promptly, maintain your grades and, generally, continue the pattern of good behavior that allowed you to win admission in the first place. And, since this is also a good opportunity for the school to more closely evaluate applications where embellishment may have been suspected, let this also serve as a reminder for the need to be honest and open in your applications.
Best of luck with your applications!
Sincerely,

ModeratorHello everyone!
Just an update to let you know that OC Register has reported UC Irvine has rescinded offers to 503 applicants. Of these, 294 were rescinded due to transcript issues and 209 for grade issues. UCI reported 65 of these applicants have thus far successfully challenged their rescissions and regained their spots in the Class of 2021.
Best of luck with your applications!

ModeratorHello everyone!
It might be immaterial, but the Washington Post reports today that the number of rescinded offers at UC Irvine is actually 499.
Best of luck with your applications!

ModeratorHello everyone!
USA Today reported that UC Irvine will indeed reinstate all 290 applicants who it claims didn’t submit transcripts on time. The fate of the applicants whose offers were rescinded due to grade-related reasons remains unsettled.
UC Irvine received 85,060 for the Class of 2021 and has a yield that has hovered around 20%. While we don’t condone the way they initially handled this situation, we can certainly see how they found themselves oversubscribed.
Best of luck with your applications!
Sincerely,
