Hello everyone!
Hillary Clinton picked up an honorary doctorate yesterday from Swansea University in the UK. Vice-chancellor of Swansea University, Professor Richard B. Davies, stated, “We are honored to present this award to Hillary Rodham Clinton, a figure of enormous international significance, and one synonymous with human rights.”
The school also renamed their College of Law to the Hillary Rodham Clinton School of Law. This isn’t the first time a prominent politician has had their name associated with a law school. (The Walter F. Mondale Hall at University of Minnesota Law School comes immediately to mind.) But we do believe that Hillary Clinton was far more polarizing than Walter Mondale and, in an era when naming rights is emerging as a leading fundraiser, we’re left wondering if this is perhaps a move the law school may eventually come to regret.
Best of luck with your applications!
Sincerely,
