Hello everyone!
The Wall Street Journal has a nice article about new pilot programs in graduate education programs that help wed actual, hands-on teaching experience with traditional coursework to better prepare future teachers. The article actually compares this new development to the residencies used by medical schools and, indeed in many ways, it is similar.
Overall, we think it’s a great trend and believe it will prove to be effective in training teachers. If it also helps reduce graduate school debt by allowing students to work part time while completing their masters, that seems like a win as well.
Best of luck with your applications!
Sincerely,
