Hello everyone!
Bloomberg Law published an interview earlier today with Columbia Law School dean Gillian Lester that focused on the career paths of today’s law school graduates. Dean Lester offered some good insights into how the opportunities are more diverse today and how law careers (and careers in general) are far more fluid and transitional.
In the interview linked above, she also discusses public service and the importance of interdisciplinary training. She also advises new graduates to start with a job in which they practice law and represent clients whether it be a law office, government agency, etc. Overall, we thought it was pretty insightful and recommend the relatively quick read for all prospective law school applicants.
Best of luck with your applications!
Sincerely,
David Petersam
