    Hello everyone!

Princeton recently held a “Leading with a Ph.D.” conference to help Ph.D. students consider potential career options both inside and outside academia and help teach them to effectively apply both their strengths and experiences to future opportunities. This conference is only the first in a series planned by Princeton.

What’s happening at Princeton is no different than what’s been happening at business schools for generations. We very much support this effort as many Ph.D.s will leave academia at some point in their careers and, sadly, too few are taught how to best utilize the skill sets they’ve developed. Consequently, we strongly urge all prospective Ph.D.s to seriously consider the availability of such career planning programs when selecting schools.

Best of luck with your applications!

    Sincerely,

Do schools not want to acknowledge how many PhDs won’t have teaching jobs?

I hope more schools start offering this career support!
