Hello everyone!
Johns Hopkins University has launched a pilot program through its Bloomberg School of Public Health that will put additional emphasis on communicating research findings, critical thinking and creative problem-solving. The school believes Ph.D. graduates are currently very well trained for deep research in their chosen field but that the lack of a more well-rounded education is leaving them ill prepared for a diverse job market that often has openings in fields like advocacy and policy making.
To that end, the Bloomberg School is promoting “The R3 Graduate Science Initiative.” The R’s stand for scientific rigor, reproducibility and responsibility. If you’re a prospective Ph.D. applicant, this pilot program may raise some additional program selection factors worth considering.
Best of luck with your applications!
Sincerely,
