    Hello everyone!

Cravath, Swaine & Moore is raising its first-year associate pay to $180,000 in a move widely believed to correlate to the shrinking pool of top law school graduate talent. Other Biglaw firms are expected to quickly follow suit as well.

Hat tip to ATL for publishing the following scale:

    Class of 2015 — $180,000
    Class of 2014 — $190,000
    Class of 2013 — $210,000
    Class of 2012 — $235,000
    Class of 2011 — $260,000
    Class of 2010 — $280,000
    Class of 2009 — $300,000
    Class of 2008 — $315,000

We believe numbers like these will help to bring some applicants back to law school from MBA programs.

Best of luck with your applications!

    Hello again everyone!

Just a quick update that American Lawyer reports several other Biglaw firms have already announced that they will match the new Cravath pay scale.

You didn’t expect the other Biglaw firms to wait too long, did you?

Best of luck with your applications!

    Sincerely,

    David Petersam
