Hello everyone!
A $20 million gift from Craigslist founder Craig Newmark has resulted in the newly renamed Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at the City University of New York. Currently, the CUNY J-School has relied mostly on cost to compete with Columbia and NYU. The program hopes the gift to boost its annual budget by roughly $900,000 each year and attract better faculty and invest in more technology.
Craig Newmark has focused on philanthropic ventures in recent years and has made improving journalism one of his top priorities.
