Tax Prof Blog did a study of the college majors with the highest LSAT scores. The top 10 are loaded with humanity majors that are perceived as being more rigorous whereas the bottom 10 majors are loaded with humanity majors widely considered to be easier.
Classics, policy majors, international relations, art history and mathematics are the top 5 majors. Pre law, business, social work and criminal justice are the majors with the lowest LSAT scores.
The article (linked above) rightfully points out that there are no controls for selection bias and there may not be a causal relationship. So don’t put too much faith in these findings.
As an example, perhaps one reason business majors may be ranked low is perhaps it is more likely that the less academically successful graduates are more likely to look at law school whereas the ‘top graduates’ have higher opportunity costs.
