Brexit and UK MBA rankings

Hello everyone!

There has been plenty of talk about Brexit and the impact it might have on the b-school ranks of LBS, Oxford and Cambridge in particular. We’re also anxious to see how this will play out. If the schools’ abilities to attract highly qualified applicants from overseas is adversely affected, we obviously see their rankings dropping. However, we have 2 years for the legislation to go fully into effect and we think the possibility of exceptions for highly qualified MBA students is reasonable.

In the meantime, if you’re accepted into a UK b-school and it’s a good fit, we see no reason not to take the offer. Please keep in mind that, even if your school later tanks in the rankings, by the time that would happen your career would be judged more on your more recent work performance than on where you earned your degree.

If b-school rankings are a casualty, it’s worth it considering everything else at stake. Good for the Britons for standing up to political correctness running amok. Hopefully it happens elsewhere too.
