Hello everyone I am a Texas resident with a 3.82 overall g.p.a. and a 3.73 science g.p.a. and I have a 24 mcat score (7ps9v8bs) I am hispanic if that matters and I am wondering what my chances are for M.D. and D.O. schools.. Thanks!
P.S. I have over 400 hours shadowing, 200 volunteering, 2 medical volunteer trips in central america and a medical internship in belize.
Your GPA is much better than mine but the MCAT is definitely an issue. But some good news, you are Hispanic. This is a plus for getting into medical school. I will provide a link that provides a chances graph depicting application to all schools via ethnicity. It’s a cool post I found on the SDN. http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=888650 This should help you out. It bases on GPA and MCAT scores. I would apply, you might be able to get to lower tier schools. Remember that DO schools are always good.
