I have graduated with my Bachelors in Biomedical Sciences and minored in Psychology. I am very interested in pursuing a masters degree in the sciences. I feel this would be a very valuable investment for my education, especially since I plan to attend medical school in the future. Would you please give me some advice on the significance of a masters degree in the sciences and why it would be important and helpful, especially if I wanted to pursue a career in medicine.

Also, my overall GPA in undergraduate coursework was 3.01, I have not taken my MCAT as yet, but I plan to. However before I plan to apply for medical school, I plan on pursuing a Masters degree. If I excelled in my masters program and earned a high score in each category of the MCAT, would this increase my chances of getting into medical school.

You should also post this under the “Ask Admissions Consultants” thread to get their response.

A 3.01 GPA will make it tough to get into medical school. Just having a masters degree doesn’t increase your chances to get into medical school, but it definitely will be a needed opportunity to earn a higher GPA and prepare for the MCATs.
