Question for my Canadian friends

So I heard that 2 American military deserters are seeking asylum in Canada and that Canadians have helped them raise money.

These dudes joined the army voluntarily and they will be persecuted for breaking a law not because of their skin color or religoin.

I dont believe all Canadians support these deserters but some clearly do. What % do you bleieve support them? Just curious.

People need to spend more time considering their military commitment before joining. I hear from so many people that they’ll just do 4 years to pay for school and be out, but I guess they don’t comprehend that they could be asked to serve in a war at any time. There’s a lot of false hope that their term in the military will be very uneventful.

We’re a fairly liberal country but it’s less htan 50% who support these Americans.
