I work with an educational consulting company and we have a client who intends to go to medical school. She is looking into retaking some courses that she did not do well on, and I have two questions regarding this process as it will later relate to transcripts:
1. When they review a prospective medical student’s transcripts, do they average 2 classes that a student took twice (first when they scored poorly; second when they took it again), or do they take the higher grade and eliminate the lower grade?
2. Does the student have to retake the course from the same college or can they take it from a community college? In this case, the student took 3 classes at UCB and wants to retake at a community college. I think the classes were Calculus, Biology, and Physics.
Thank you!
