So, I am a PhD student in molecular biology and after finishing up my graduate degree hope to get into med school. During my undergrad, I had no idea what I wanted to do and did not do very well. I graduated with a 2.5 GPA in genetics. I was accepted to grad school and still didn’t learn my lesson so I got a D my first semester and since then have made all A’s and B’s. So by the time I graduate should have a 3.4. I have a ton of teaching experience along with a significant amount research and volunteer time at an Oncology practice. On top of that my letters of recommendation should be very good. Planning on taking the MCAT in a few weeks for the first time and hope to make high 20’s to low 30’s. What do I need to do in order to get into med school? or is my undergrad GPA too low to be considered?
