I am applying to law school in the fall, and would like advice on how to compensate for deficiencies on my application. Here is my situation: I am a single mother with school-age children. I was a stay-home mother and have not worked in 10 years. I graduated with an undergraduate degree in business management 10+ years ago. Consequently, I do not have a current job history, professional letters of recommendation or academic letters of recommendation. My LSAT scores are average. Is there anything I can do (such as volunteer work in a non-profit, fundraising etc.) to make myself look like a more viable candidate for law school? Is there anything I should emphasize on my application to strengthen my chances for admission?
