I have a BS in Chemistry, with a 3.7 GPA and a 4.0 in the sciences, I just got my MCAT score back, and it’s a 25 (12 on PHYS, 5 VR, 8 Biol., Q on Writting), English being my second language. I also did research for 2.5 years as an undergraduate, and I volunteer in a clinic every week where I shadow doctors, and interact with patients). In high school, i worked at a hospital drawing blood.

I am retaking the MCAT in sept 12, i talked to an advisor, and she said that I don’t have a chance in getting accepted to any MD schools, only DO, and that I should apply next year.

I don’t know what to do. I would appreciate some advice.

    Hi and welcome to AdmissionsBoards!

The 8 in biology is still very low and you are going to need to boost your MCAT score to be competitive. Only take the test next month if you are confident you will get your desired score.

    Best of luck!
