    The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has signed an agreement with the Government of Portugal that will foster joint research and educational projects in manufacturing, transportation, energy, bioengineering, and management.

    Seven Portuguese universities and all 5 of MIT’s schools will participate in the MIT-Portugal Program. The overall program provides opportunities for faculty, researchers, and students to take part in exchanges. The first five years of the program will involve an estimated $80 million in funding.
