ParticipantI have read your article pertaining to International medical schools. And was brokenheated by it because I am one who loves to travel and was really looking forward to attending this new school in the Caribbeans namely Xavier Medical School. It is run by US physicians and you’re guaranteed a US residency upon graduation. I have never applied to a US medical school because I love to travel, hate the MCAT (sorry), and I thought that this would be a great opportunity to kill two birds with one stone. Could you please research this new school and tell me what you think. I really do appreciate it! Respectfully yours…

ParticipantIf you love to travel, maybe you should do that instead of pursue something very serious like medicine.
A school that gaurantees a residency? Someone needs to look into this. Sounds like a con job to me. Maybe the residency is as a receptionist of a dentist office.
And, oh yeah, are you in anyway affiliated with this supposedly great medical school? You sound too enthusiastic not to be an “admissions officer/salesperson” who earns a commission off each enrollment like University of Phoenix domestically and many of the foreign med schools.
Yeah, that’s where I want to invest my time and tuition.
Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

ParticipantNo sweetie I am not an affiliate of the University I am looking for honest advice from some people who care, not wisecrack remarks. And instead of judging look on the website yourself, I am not making this up. I was searching for medical schools, found this one, and wanted to get advice on it… However, despite your sarcasm, thanks for the response.

ParticipantI have read on xavier, I hate to inform you, but this school is a crock… They say they will take students right out of high school, if they are desprite enough to take high schoolers, I would seriously question their credibilty. Even if you do get in it would likely be a waste of money because it is very difficult to get a residency, just because they have hospital that say they will take their students doens’t mean the hospital will. Our local hospital here takes international students, but if there is enough state students to fill the openings they will take state first.
If you want to pick them because they don’t require the MCAT, how do expect to pass two USMLE exams???
