The IndUS Business Journal reports that Infosys Technologies plans to hire 300 U.S. graduates this year as part of a plan to diversify its India-based workforce.

Infosys, which is headquartered in Bangalore and employs over 52,000 people worldwide, also plans to recruit graduates from UK schools.

The U.S. hires will go through a four-month engineering program at the corporation’s Mysore, India global education center in August. Each new hire will then spend two months at an Infosys development center in India before returning to the U.S. to work at one of Infosys’ offices there.

Infosys has stepped up its international recruitment in recent years. In 2005-2006 it hired staff from 25 different countries, doubling the size of its non-Indian workforce.

In the past, Infosys has recruited graduates from the Stanford GSB, MIT’s Sloan School of Management, Harvard Business School, and Oxford University’s Said Business School.
