I’m a college junior with a 3.6 GPA. If I hit 170 on the LSAT, can I get into a top law school? Are there any compelling reasons to take a gap year before applying?

That said, I see no reason why you couldn’t be competitive based on the limited information you provided above.
Regarding the gap year question, unless you are unsure of attending law school, have a great opportunity for your gap year or have one or more weaknesses to address before applying, I don’t think it will be necessary.
