When the US made an initial pledge of $35 million and were called stingy, how much had the French pledged? $150,000. How come the UN didn’t call them stingy? And how come the oil rich Arab nations don’t seem to care about the Moslims in Indonesia? Too busy pledging money to al Qaeda and Palestinian terrorists hellbent on killing Jews?

OK, promise this will be my last venting of 2004! [:D]

Support terrorists. Vote Bush out of office.

I heard the Saudis are going to hold a TV fundraising event.

Didn’t hear about the French pledge. Don’t know what their reasoning would be for that either.

The truth is that the US government gives a lower percentage of our GDP to international charity efforts than the other members of the industrial seven. And, as much as I want to blame Bush for this, it is something that has always been the case, and not because we are stingy.

Unlike those other countries, Americans give a significant amount of foreign aid through private organizations. In other countries, the citizens give through their governments. Recent numbers I heard on a CNN report suggest that our giving is on par with the other countries, if not sometimes exceeding them, because of the emphasis on private giving here.

I sure am glad we are spending $$ trying to win the hearts and minds of Islamists. The way they give to their own kind, we will be in good shpe if we need foreign aid at some point. [V]

Trying to think of a catchy phrase.
