Hello everyone!
University of Chicago just made national headlines by becoming the first top-ranked national private university to make both the ACT and SAT optional. The school has made no secret that the decision is based on a desire to further increase the diversity of its student body.
Jim Nondorf, Chicago’s dean of admissions, stated, “Despite the fact that we would say testing is only one piece of the application, that’s the first thing a college asks you. We wanted to really take a look at all our requirements and make sure they were fair to every group, that everybody, anybody could aspire to a place like UChicago.”
Best of luck with your applications!
Sincerely,
