Hello everyone!
The UCLA School of Law received a $20 million gift to launch a new institute called the Promise Institute for Human Rights. The Promise Institute will focus on human rights education and advocacy. Dr. Eric Esrailian, a professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA has been the driving force behind the Promise Institute. He is also the lead producer of the movie, “The Promise” which documents the 1915 Armenian genocide and the proceeds from this movie will be used to fund the Institute and possibly other initiatives at UCLA as well.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. Nothing is static in higher education. Do your due diligence and understand the schools you target will likely continue to evolve over the course of your degree work. If the Promise Institute appeals to your interests, then you may very well want to carefully consider including UCLA among your target law schools.
