Hello everyone!
The University of York in the UK has launched a new graduate research school for the purpose of helping to develop its students’ research skills and help ensure their postgraduate success. By providing appropriate training, development and support to research students, University of York believes it can significantly boost its graduates’ prospects.
The Dean of the new Graduate Research School, Tom Stoneham, states, “Not only the results of this research, but also the skills, knowledge and imagination which went into achieving those results, need to be properly understood by society in general and potential employers in particular.”
As we’ve said over and over, we are all in favor of innovations and the prospect of universities offering more practical skills in research could help future students further boost their educational ROIs. We applaud University of York for its efforts and hope this catches on and is soon offered by many more universities around the world!
Best of luck with your applications!
Sincerely,
David Petersam
