Hello everyone!
The Economic Times has an insightful article about the lengths top-tier Indian business schools are going in order to attract international applicants. One of the most innovative is the creation of a mobile app that features videos of the schools and helps the administrations track all of the interest they generate.
We have certainly been optimistic on the opportunities the top Indian schools present to their students. In fact, we even featured ISB in Top MBA Programs: Finding the Best Business School for You.
Nonetheless, we are a bit skeptical about how well the international recruitment efforts are going to work over the intermediate future. India is a bit isolated geographically for many international students and most of them presumably are going to want to be recruited by non Indian companies. Until more international students want to work in India post graduation, we’re a bit pessimistic as to how effective these recruitment efforts will be.
Of course, none of this is meant to diminish these schools and they are a highly viable option for Indian MBA students who either feel shut out of the top international schools due to the very high admission standards for Indian applicants and/or those students who wish to remain closer to home and save significantly on their MBA educations.
Best of luck with your applications!
Sincerely,
David Petersam
