I graduated in Biology with a minor in Chemistry back in 2005. Since graduation I started my own company selling a dental patent I received and have recently wanted to pursue my original dream of becoming a dentist. However, my question now is am I too far past due on my degree? Obviously I would like to spend this year just evaluating some of my old courses at a local college to refresh myself to take the DAT. But do I need to retake all my courses and labs all over again since it has been 5 years since I received my degree? Or will dental schools accept my degree as is as long as I receive a decent score on the DAT? It would be terrible to have to go through all that intense course work again but I guess if that is what is required then I have no choice. I suppose I should probably just contact the school’s I am interested in attending and see what they say, as I’m sure they all may have different stances on this situation. But If someone knows the logistics behind this scenario please let me know so I can prepare myself correctly to apply and not waste anytime under false assumptions.
