Recruiter’s will outright lie to you so I’m wondering if anyone has any information or experience on this topic?
I am under the impression that the military will pay for part/all of your medical school, they assign you a residency, and once completed you pay them back in years of service??? Is this right/how does this work?
What is the ratio of years of payment vs. years of service?
What is the deal with residency?
I’ve heard that they can even pay YOU as a resident?
How much control do they have over you and for how long?
As we are in a state of war becoming part of the military is a crucially important decision and I am ever wary of the military’s risks and control. However I would be more than willing to provide my medical services to our soldiers as a form payment for medical school. However I do not want to be in the military my whole career. What does a military medical background do for you when it comes to getting into your own practice?
