    Hey,
I am a sophomore at UConn, I currently have a 2.77 gpa. I’m changing my major from biology to political science because I’m not passionate enough about Biology to stick with it. I’m trying to raise my gpa to a 3.4-3.5 by the time I graduate. Can I still get into Medical School w/ this? What is my best plan of action? What is the deal w/ med schools in the Caribbean? If you attend a medical school there, how do you get a job in the U.S.?

Hi asn88 and welcome to Admissions Boards!

Your chances of admission rely on more than just your GPA. You also have to take the MCAT and do well on it and you would also have to address any medical volunteer experience in you application as well. With only your GPA, I can honestly only speculate about your chances of admission. As far as schools in the Caribbean, I would say avoid them, it will make earning a job in the U.S. extremely difficult for you in the future.

    Best of Luck!

I posted a reply, just curious about why it was deleted?

We’ve been getting a lot of spammers peddling viagra, porn, and other undesirable products. Perhaps in the haste, your message was deleted.

No problem, better safe than sorry. I put a link to another board so I thought maybe posting links wasn’t allowed.

    Thanks for the reply!!!

Is it possible to not disclose information about attending a previous university? I have a very low gpa and would like to start fresh. Do schools check a national record of some sort for school attendance?
