I am considering pursuing a medical career. Whether it be Nurse Practitioner, P.A. or an actual medical major in internal medicine. I am currently attended a community college, my major is general studies in science, and I have a decent G.P.A. and a strong desire to help people. I am transferring to a state university next semester, so its crunch time to really narrow my major down. I would like advice from anyone who has attended medical school, been an intern/resident, or an actual Physician. I need to know what it’s really like and what to expect. Although I am ambitious and motivated with a good school record thus far, I am however a single mother. I would appreciate any advice or stories of your journey. Thank you.

okay i havent been through any medical studies or anything, but my mom recently got her masters in nursing. my observations of her studies was that its going to be a lot of work, and it helps a lot if you really, passionately want it (which it sounds like you do). you sound like the kind of person that would be good at that, an i wish you the best of luck. these studies will take a long time. my mother was 37 when she finally got her masters (however, she did work for a few years in between med school and the masters program, as she had two children in that timespan). good luck again.
