    Dear Ms. Post,

    I am currently wait listed at Penn Law which is my number one choice for law school. I attended Cornell University and am interested in focusing on corporate law. I am very keen on Penn Law because of its cross-disciplinary approach and, specifically, the opportunity to take classes at Wharton.

    In the case that I am not admitted this year, I plan on working in investment banking for one to two years before re-applying to Penn. How do admissions committees usually look upon applicants who re-apply? What experiences do they look for? Thank you for your time!

    In case you didn’t repost your question, I can offer just a little bit of advice:

    If you don’t get in the first time and you reapply then you need to have done something to step up your application – no slacking whatsoever.

    Also, if you are waitlisted and really want to go, have you tried writing them a letter expressing how strong your interest is? When I interviewed at med schools they said if you were waitlisted and really wanted to go there that a little persistence will help bump you up (not too much though![:)]).
