GPA and MCAT

I have a 2.5 GPA, yet my MCAT score was a 45. My background consists of community service. I am a certified basic EMT and paramedic. I am a wife with one child. I feel that if I had taken another path that my GPA would be better than a 3.50. What are my chances of getting into medical school? I am of African-American decent and I really want to go to medical school, yet I am severly discouraged. Do I have a right to be?[]
