My High School offers a vocational technical school program for juniors and seniors. Next year I will be entering my junior year in high school and looking to pursue a career as a pediatric nurse. I was wondering if entering the vocational school would increase or hurt my chances of getting into medical school after graduation.I would greatly appreciate any insight on this topic.
    Thank You

Medical schools admissions committees rarely, if ever, look at your high school record or coursework in determining your suitability for acceptance. Becoming a pediatric nurse is a very noble goal, one that would surely give you a great springboard for a killer personal statement for your med school applications when the time comes. My opinion is that if shown in the right light, your future career as a pediatric nurse will help you into med school.

    Good luck.
