HI,
I have a question regarding exactly how my gpa would be calculated. I took a phsyics course during this last semester at a university different from the one I attend during the school year. I received an A in that class and want the medical schools I will be applying to, to see this grade and count it toward my gpa. However, while in high school (4 years ago) I took an intro economics course at that same university to see if I was interested in majoring in economics (which I wasn’t). Since I was just taking it for my personal interest (i am not counting it for any credit) I didn’t worry about my grade in that class and was unable to take the final exam and therefore received a D- in the course. This course is also on the same transcript as my physics course. Will medical colleges count the economics course in calculating my gpa? Without that course, my gpa is roughly a 3.5 and I am very concerned that he D- will really damage my gpa. In calculating my gpa, my home university does not consider any summer work, so I am mainly concerned about how med schools will count it.
thanks!
