The Daily Northwestern reports Kellogg has reaffirmed its honor code in light of the recent article by Poets & Quants regarding an alleged cheating scandal. (We also found it noteworthy that they also stated they have “not been able to verify any of the claims made in the story regarding the alleged incident.” We’re not trying to imply any lack of competence at P&Q as they have broken many stories and we have been impressed with their journalism skills, but we do wonder if the students have gone silent again as our Kellogg alumni told us they first heard of the incident from P&Q.)
This is a critical time for the prestigious business school. In the current era of scandal reporting, Kellogg’s immediate actions and their results are going to go a long way to determining the school’s future reputation and their current students’ and recent graduates’ earnings potential could well be impacted. Kellogg has worked very hard to acquire its reputation and we wish the school the best in properly addressing the honor code issues. It would be a shame to see the work of so many over so many years be tarnished by this recent incident.
Best of luck with your applications!
