We have some great news for law school applicants and students. The number of law firms that hire their summer associates is increasing. The National Association for Law Placement reports it reached 95% last year. It is widely believed that the shrinking enrollment has helped boost the employment prospects of those remaining students.
There are two key things law school applicants with top law firm employment aspirations need to understand. First, the top law firms often have a strong bias for those with high GPAs at the top law schools. Second, the work you do as a summer associate can affect your employment prospects. In other words, try to obtain a summer associate position in the area of law you wish to practice after graduation.
Best of luck with your applications!
