The New York Times had a great article about problems at the psychiatric research center at the NYU School of Medicine revolving around a number of violations in testing an experimental drug that is supposed to mimic marijuana. As a result, NYU placed Dr. Alexander Neumeister, the studies’ lead investigator, on leave.
We don’t want to paint a picture of NYU as a Titanic about to sink, but we do feel these are the types of things you want to research with any schools of interest to spare yourself some unnecessary surprises later in your medical studies. Some of our faithful board followers may recall how we wrote about how NYU was shutting down its sleep lab in January. Again, not everything can be anticipated but due diligence will go a long way to mitigating these concerns.
Best of luck with your applications!

If they can come up with synthetic MJ, they can keep the natural stuff illegal, and charge outrageous prices for it through the pharmacies. It’s all pretty disgusting to me how the government and others just want to make money off people to the detriment of them taking care of the issue themselves with free, grow your own, relatively harmless, marijuana. So many stand to lose when it does become legal, they are grasping at straws and doing everything they can to keep it illegal.
