ETS released a report on test taker performance on the GRE® revised General Test between August 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012. The report discloses scores by gender and ethnic group, intended graduate major field, and test-taker group within major fields.
ETS is careful to note that:
To the extent that there are differences in test scores both within and across the groups under analysis, the differences can result from factors such as variation in course-taking patterns, interests, knowledge, and skills, or differential educational, economic, and social systems in which everyone does not receive equal opportunity.
There were a couple of interesting observations such as the two most desired geographic regions for graduate study were the South and West Coast and natural sciences was the most popular graduate field.
Best of luck with your applications!
Keep up with us on:
I would have thought the NE would be the most popular place and hearing about how there aren’t enough scientists, I would have figured some other field would have been more popular like healthcare.
