    Hello everyone!

The new U.S. News & World Report rankings are now out. The rankings included education and engineering programs along with business, law, medicine and nursing.

Education Top Five: Stanford, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Wisconsin-Madison, Vanderbilt

Engineering Top Five: MIT, Stanford, Berkeley, Cal Tech, Carnegie Mellon

There is almost always some movement in the annual rankings though this year it was more subtle with both top 5 consisting of last year’s top 5 with slightly different ordering. For this reason, beware of putting too much faith in the rankings. If you choose between two schools only because one is ranked two notches above the other, there is no guarantee that ranking will be the same when you are getting ready to graduate. All of the top schools are excellent choices for the right students, so please apply to those programs that best fit your needs.

Best of luck with your applications!

    Sincerely,

    David Petersam

Anyone else get the impression US News doesn’t put much effort into these rankings?
